Okay.

Samhain.

Wow. What a weekend. Why the hell did it have to end? I was having a good time, dammit!!!

..despite the fact that it was ass-freezing cold. Which is why I'm congested and feel like shit right now. But like I said, it was well worth it.

More good food made with love by the Soup Goddess and others (I'm refraining from saying actual names because I'm paranoid about computer hackers, but certain others made excellent chili, cranberry bread, oatmeal and fried potatoes).

Glad to see the Prince of Mapleshire and his mother well and happy. Also glad to see the father and diania_firebird taking a well-deserved break and everyone else currently living at Mapleshire.

Also incredibly grateful for the heated trailer I was allowed to sleep in. Thank you thank you thank you.

I feel so much more comfortable around these people than my own peer group. It makes me wonder. It also makes me sad to think that the next gathering may be up to 5 months away.

But to quote a friend- These are the good old days to come.

I was sick. I didn't want to get anyone else sick so I stayed home.

There comes a point, in everyone's life, when we are faced with the liberating revelation that "peer group" is not a demographic limited to age, race, spiritual bent, or much of anything else... except like-mindedness. Being trapped in a building with relative strangers, eight hours a day, does not make them peers. It makes them people you kinda know.

I'm happy to hear that you had a splendid time in Mapelshire... if you're looking for your ass, I believe that Chas has a pile of them that were frozen off during the weekend.

I guess my time just came. Thank you for that. (I'm digging the picture, by the way)
